Ferry Services for Rural Communities Program
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, enacted as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, establishes a Ferry Service for Rural Communities Program that makes federal resources available to states to ensure basic essential ferry service is provided to rural areas.
Funding is allocated to projects on a competitive basis, from proposals submitted to the Federal Transit Administration in response to Notices of Funding Opportunities.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS include:
Capital and operating assistance for a ferry service that operated a regular schedule at any time during the five-year period ending March 1, 2020 and served not less than two rural areas located more than 50 sailing miles apart.
