Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and CostSaving Transportation (PROTECT) – Discretionary

PROTECT Grants will support planning, resilience improvements, community resilience and evacuation routes, and at-risk coastal infrastructure.

The Federal cost share requirement is 80% Federal, 20% non-Federal, except for a Tribe as determined by the Secretary, in which case the share requirement is 100% Federal. Waivers are available in some circumstances.

Eligibility

ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS include: State (or political subdivision of a State), metropolitan planning organization, local government, special purpose district or public authority with a transportation function, Tribe, Federal land management agency (applying jointly with State(s))

ELIGIBLE USES include: Highway, transit, and certain port projects
